“Stunning location, very comfortable property and had everything we required.”

The only thing I would suggest is for families that the stair gate situation needs looking at. No stair gate at the bottom on the stairs and the one fitted at the top, our son could crawl under as it was fitted too high! Apart from the above had a lovely time, would fully recommend to family and friends.

The property

It will take you just three minutes to walk from Little Trelawns to the award winning, clean, sandy, surfing beach of Mawgan Porth.

This is the perfect holiday location for walkers, being so close to the coastal footpath and beach, the scenery is fabulous all year round. The light and airy accommodation with a large sitting room incorporates a spectacular sun lounge, with sea views and direct access to the front garden boasting a terraced seating area, ideal for alfresco dining.

In the evening you can sit with a sundowner and watch as the sun gets lower in the sky reflecting it's glowing colours onto the sea.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms both have en-suites.

The well equipped kitchen/dining area provides plenty of space and has all that you will need to prepare and enjoy a meal together. Opposite Little Trelawns you will find The Scarlet, a luxurious eco-hotel with spa where you can relax in a hot tub overlooking the beach.

Gastronomes will enjoy excellent restaurants within easy reach - WAX Watergate Bay with its excellent sea views, or Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant in Padstow together with many lesser known gems.

Mawgan Porth is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and the South West Coastal Path is less than a minute away.

There are walks to the south leading to the famous surfing and kite-surfing beach at Watergate Bay and to the north along National Trust headlands to the iconic Bedruthan Steps.

Less than a 5 minute walk takes you to the Merrymoor Inn, they serve a hearty breakfast or if you prefer, afternoon tea and cake.

Further afield you will find - The Eden project just 19 miles, Lanhydrock House and gardens 22miles, and The Lost Gardens of Helligan 23 miles.

About the location

MAWGAN PORTH

Watergate Bay 2 miles; Newquay 5 miles; Padstow 10 miles.

Nestled between Newquay and Padstow on the beautiful north Cornish coast, Mawgan Porth is a sheltered cove with golden sandy beach, great surf and plenty of caves and coastal footpath to explore. With little distraction from its golden sands, life here revolves around the beach. Laze in the summer sun, learn to ride the waves, or watch over stormy seas on a refreshing cliff top stroll. Mawgan Porth is also home to the fabulous adults-only Scarlet Hotel, which offers Spa treatments and facilities to non-residents - and nearby there is a wealth of fine dining restaurants such as Paul Ainsworth's No 6 and Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant. Mawgan Porth has a handful of shops, including a village store and deli, and a farm shop selling locally sourced meat, eggs, vegetables, bread and pasties, as well as tennis courts, a pitch and putt, and an 18-hole golf course overlooking the Atlantic.
