“What a wonderful place to stay!”

The location was amazing, so close to the beach. The house was beyond our expectations - high spec, clean and roomy. The main lounge area was brilliant - so many places to sit and enjoy the views. Bedrooms were all super, especially the master bedroom upstairs with the bath and the views from the sinks while brushing your teeth! The outdoor shower was really useful for the wetsuits and surfboards. Only suggestions to improve would be: more toilet rolls! A mirror in the bathroom of the master ...

A mirror in the bathroom of the master bedroom for shaving (i did cut my lip!). The fan in the second double room upstairs was very noisy, we turned it off. The toilet seat in the toilet by the front door needs tightening. The duvets in the twin room should be winter duvets at this time of year, my daughter was on her own so used both the duvets so it was fine! A smaller non stick frying pan and some baking trays to warm our croissants!

The property

It will take you just three minutes to walk from Trelawns to the award winning, clean, sandy, surfing beach of Mawgan Porth, patrolled by life-guards from May to October.

Trelawns is the perfect holiday location for beach lovers, walkers, families and large groups.

It's rustic beach style gives a delightful sea side atmosphere to the property. The light and airy accommodation with a large sitting room incorporates a spectacular sun lounge, with sea views and direct access to the front garden boasting a terraced seating area, ideal for alfresco dining.

In the evening you can sit with a sundowner and watch as the sun gets lower in the sky reflecting it's glowing colours onto the sea.

Outside is a hot shower for those coming off the beach after a swim and also for washing wet suits, together with storage for surf-boards.

Upstairs you can sit on the balcony and look out to sea.

The well equipped kitchen/dining area provides plenty of space for all the family to sit and enjoy a meal together.

The bedroom accommodation occupies two floors with four toilets plus a wash hand basin in every room. Opposite Trelawns you will find The Scarlet, a luxurious eco-hotel with spa where you can relax in a hot tub overlooking the beach.

Gastronomes will enjoy excellent restaurants within easy reach - Paul Ainsworth's No 6, or Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant both in Padstow, together with many lesser known gems.

Mawgan Porth is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and the South West Coastal Path is less than a minute away.

There are walks to the south leading to the famous surfing and kite-surfing beach at Watergate Bay and to the north along National Trust headlands to the iconic Bedruthan Steps.

A five minute walk takes you to the village with its professional surf school, shops, cafes, restaurants and the popular Merrymoor Inn with beer garden overlooking the beach.

Further afield you will find - The Eden project just 19 miles, Lanhydrock House and gardens 22miles, and The Lost Gardens of Helligan 23 miles.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £150.
