“Me and my wife really enjoyed our week long stay at this cottage.”

The cottage it self was very well set out and had all the usual comforts we like. There were a few minor points. The bed in the main bedroom was too small compared to ours at home. The dishwasher sprung a leak 3 days into our stay, the owner was unable to get anyone out to fix it for the remainder of our stay. Finally, as we were staying during the Xmas period we asked if a Xmas tree could be present since this had been provided at other cottages we've stayed at before. A blunt NO was the reply ...

A blunt NO was the reply. Obviously not in the T&Cs but certainly not in the Xmas spirit either. Also, just 5 lonely logs were left for us to use in the log burner, where as other cottages we've stayed have left have left almost a week's supply. Aside from the minor gripes stated, we still thoroughly enjoyed our time at this cottage and would recommend it

Hi Derek, Many thanks for the feedback and I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. For people reading your feedback and who have not visited the barn, I think it would be useful for them to be aware that the bed in the main bedroom is a King Size double. This will help them put into context the size of the bed in the barn compared to their beds in their own homes. It is correct that, given the Christmas holidays we were unable to get an engineer our to inspect the dishwasher before the end of your stay. The issue was subsequently rectified and was found to be caused by broken glass in the machine which damaged the pump and pump casing which had to be replaced. With regards to the Christmas Tree, the question that I was asked prior to your visit was “Is there a Christmas Tree in the Barn”, hence the reason my response was a direct reply. I did also say that there are fairy lights installed around the fireplace / book case and that you would be welcome to bring additional decorations if you wished, which I hope was feed back to you. Again, your comments are very much appreciated, and I hope you will visit our home again in the future. Property Owner

The property

Effortless style in blissfully peaceful surroundings, The Old Dairy is a rare find.

Beautifully presented with ample space, light and airy rooms, a wood burning stove and a sunny garden, this is a great year round destination.

Forming part of an old farmstead in the pretty little hamlet of Tredinnick, the surrounds are green and rural yet Padstow is just minutes away by car giving you have the best of both worlds.

The chic open plan living room is a great place to chill out and catch up with friends (or a good book); French windows open to the west facing enclosed garden and the valley beyond for spectacular sunsets.

A further courtyard at the front provides the perfect spot for alfresco breakfast before you hit the beach.

The accommodation is all on one level so pootle along to find two roomy bedrooms; a king with en-suite bathroom and a second room with twin beds which can be zip and linked to create a 6' super king on request.

Once you're ready to explore, hike the coast path, cycle the camel trail, or simply don your walking boots and explore the fabulous rolling countryside on the doorstep.

Nearby St Issey has a pub for a well earnt pint on the way back.

With beaches galore at Constantine, Harlyn, Treyarnon and Porthcothan Bay a week might not be long enough.

Padstow needs little introduction, with some great shops, cafes and restaurants clustered around the harbour you can dine at Steins or grab a pasty on the harbour wall.

Hop on a ferry to Rock or learn to sail, surf or waterski on the Camel estuary.

If that isn't enough then head to one of the nearby hotels for a spot of pampering, with The Watergate Bay, Bedruthan Steps and Scarlet Hotel within a few miles, it may be hard to choose.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.
