“St Ives view is a wonderful property and we are so pleased we have already booked it again for next year .”

The house is perfectly placed and is well equipped for everything you need The views are simply stunning However the only thing which is stopping us booking this property every year for our week in Cornwall is the beds ( we noticed this has been mentioned a few times ) the mattresses are so soft and low they sink below the bed frame when trying to get out and make them very uncomfortable and I think it would be a really nice touch to have higher quality pillows and sheets etc the property ...

The property

While away lazy days on the sun terrace above the hustle and bustle of the sands below from this outstanding beach house.

The spectacular panorama of the Atlantic Ocean west along the coast to St Ives can be enjoyed whatever the weather from the fabulous picture windows in the nautical inspired sitting room or sun room on stormy days. With a pathway from the bottom of the garden directly to the sands of Porthtowan there really is no excuse but to indulge in a spot of swimming, surfing or kayaking under the watchful eye of the lifeguards from May to September.

Porthtowan is a thriving coastal village with a relaxed ambience.

There is a small supermarket, a delicatessen, ice cream and surf shops as well as three pub/restaurants.

Just to the north, the quieter Chapel Porth Beach can be reached on foot along the beach at low tide, or via the South West Coast Path at high tide. St Ives View offers a cool contemporary interior with incredible views from all principal rooms.

The split level accommodation has been designed to take advantage of the outlook and even the kitchen sink has a view to die for.

A garden comprising a deck and small lawn is accessed via steps to the side of the house or from the sun room but please be aware of the differing levels.

A hot outdoor shower awaits returning salty surfers and swimmers.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £250.

About the location

PORTHTOWAN

St Agnes 4 miles; Portreath 4 miles; Truro 9 miles.

Porthtowan is a small village resting on west Cornwall’s beautiful coastline, renowned for its Blue Flag beach, which at low tide exposes almost a mile and a half of fine, golden sands. Fringed by impressive granite cliffs, the beach is a popular surfing venue and is lifeguarded during the summer, making it ideal for families. Porthtowan is part of the St Agnes designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and there are some wonderful walks to be found, offering vivid scenery along the South West Coast Path, whether you choose to head east to St Agnes or west to Portreath. The towns of St Ives and Penzance, with their art galleries, restaurants and quaint harbours, are half an hour’s drive away, whilst Flambards Theme Park, The Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Gweek, and the Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station are just a few of the other diverse attractions scattered around this picturesque region. A great base for a varied family break.
