What our property appraiser Becca thinks
Cosy Nook is a charming traditional cottage nestled on the edge of a picturesque Looe Valley. Sandplace is home to the intermediate Sandplace station on the Historic Looe Valley Line Railway and the Morval Estate. Sympathetically refurbished the cottage (built circa 1840), is believed to have been the bakery for the Morval Estate. Cosy Nook boasts beamed ceiling, flag stone floor and wood burner downstairs, a roll top bath and a double and single room upstairs. There is parking and an outside courtyard sun terrace to enjoy the birdsong and admire the lovely countryside view reaching out across the Looe Valley
All our properties are personally appraised by our team, who work in association with Visit England to ensure quality standards are upheld.

Peace and quite. Very relaxing.

We have all had a lovely holiday here in Cornwall and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Cosy Nook! It had all that we wanted and more. Thank you and we hope to see you again. Ps. the dogs loved the underfloor heating as much as we did!

This tranquil country-cosy retreat is just five minutes from the lively coastal town of Looe; offering the best of both worlds. Cosy Nook really does live up to its name, tucked away on a hillside overlooking the treetops of Looe Valley, the setting really is quite magical. With walks in all directions, this is a great base for discovering this enchanting corner of South Cornwall. When you are ready to venture out, potter down the hill, hop on the train and you can be in Looe within 5 minutes. A historic port and fishing town, this is a great holiday destination with a maze of narrow streets lined with pubs, restaurants, art galleries and shops. Life here revolves around the water so head out on a mackerel fishing or shark watching trip, try your hand at diving or snorkelling or enjoy a ride on a glass bottomed boat. With safe sandy beaches it is child friendly too. The waterside towns of Fowey, Polperro and Mevagissey are within easy reach as are the celebrated Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan. For a fun day out, follow the Rail Ale Trail on the Looe Valley train line; one of the great scenic railways of Cornwall and Devon, it just happens to pass some fine rural pubs along the route! Inside, the cottage has heaps of character with beamed ceilings and a homely feel. Snuggle up in front of the wood burning stove on cooler evenings and snooze in the sunny garden by day. The two bedrooms are neat, colourful and welcoming and share a pristine bathroom. Immediately to the front of the cottage is a sun terrace with steps up to a further garden area overlooking the valley below. Semi-detached the cottage shares access with the neighbouring property up a typical Cornish narrow lane on an incline.

Had a brilliant time in the cottage, a world away from anything. Surely will be coming back for our honeymoon as we got engaged while we were here. Such a romantic little place. Even the dog relaxed and didn't seen to want to go home.

We had a super stay at Cosy Nook. The situation is so peaceful and the cottage certainly provided all that we needed. The online pictures don’t do it justice in our opinion! Our daughter adored her beautiful bedroom – the book went down very well! The personal touches, flowers, milk and cream tea were a lovely addition – many thanks! We will certainly be in touch to stay here again.

Cosy Nook is fantastic and had everything we could possibly need. It is perfectly located to visit all the local sites. There is so much to do here. Maxi, the dog, had lots of fun exploring and our 2 boys have fun playing in the cottage after our lovely days sightseeing. We have had a wonderful 'family moon' here and can't wait to visit again.

Thank you for lovely and wonderful stay in Cosy Nook. This was perfectly suited for us to visit the surrounding towns, villages and coastline, yet still retaining the peace and tranquility after a busy day sightseeing. Little bear, our dog loved being here too and especially enjoyed looking at the wildlife. A home away from home.
