Description

May Cottage is a terraced stone cottage in the pretty hamlet of Pentewan.

Stunning garden and a wood burning stove are a couple of the highlights of this cottage suitable for family or friends to enjoy.

Entry is through a stable door into the comfortable living room with lots of books, games and DVDs for those wet days or cosy evenings.

The kitchen is well equipped and includes a breakfast table.

There are three bedrooms on the first floor with a family bathroom.

Separated from the cottage by a quiet lane are two decking areas equipped with garden furniture and a large garden with enchanting views across the valley.

There is ample parking for two cars.

A 5 minute walk takes you to Pentewan beach, an adventure playground among bathers and water sport enthusiasts and a firm favourite among locals since it is so large it rarely gets crowded.

For walkers and cyclists, there is the Pentewan Valley Trail, a 4 km inland road-free path through beautiful woodland, and the scenic coastal footpath which stretches in either direction over rugged cliff tops, and hidden coves.

Unspoilt and uncommercialised, the village itself provides a convenience store, pub and well-reputed bar/restaurant.

The picturesque fishing village of Mevagissey, which still boasts a working harbour and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are within 5 miles (both linked to Pentewan via a cycle path) and the world famous Eden Project is less than 20 minutes by car.

Nestled in a sheltered valley along a quiet row of traditional cottages and away from the main thoroughfare, May Cottage is truly a cosy haven by the sea and an excellent choice for breaks at anytime of year

Lovely cottage.

Pentewan is a perfect base for this part of Cornwall. Tight coming into North Road but ok after that. Garden very good but perhaps older guests might find the garden a little challenging. Also stairs up to bedrooms challenging for less sure footed guests. Cottage lovely and cosy. Very well equipped and welcome pack a lovely surprise and treat.

Another lovely stay at May Cottage.

Having stayed a few times before May Cottage has everything going for it regarding comfort, cleanliness and location. Our only gripes were the garden and terraces are looking unkempt and the washing line cannot be used due to its close proximity to the fence.Apart from that it was perfect.

Our fourth stay in May cottage.

From the welcoming cream tea to the fact everything you could want is at hand, couldn't fault our stay. Excellent location, two parking spots, friendly neighbours. Great to use as a base to explore Cornwall or just to walk the five mins to the local beach. Never had an issue and have already booked again.
