A mile further west is a larger stretch of sand and surf at sheltered Maenporth beach which can be reached by car or by foot along the coastal path. Water sports fans can sign up for canoeing, sailing, diving or rowing at Falmouth Watersports Centre or if a day at the spa is more your cup of tea then head into the hotel to make use of the facilities (charges apply) or pop down the road to the upmarket St Michaels Hotel and Spa.

If you fancy getting out on the water, hop on a boat trip or fishing excursions from the town quay to explore the secret creeks of the Carrick Roads.
