Tucked away in a beautiful corner of South Cornwall, Stable Cottage offers guests the chance to escape from the mayhem of everyday life. The cottage is situated on the north bank of the Helford River, close to the beautiful Mawnan church and surrounded by National Trust land. The area is a walker's paradise with the nearby coastal footpath offering you access to the local beaches, Falmouth or further exploration of the Helford River. Enjoy a well-earned drink or a meal at the 300 year old Ferry Boat Inn on the waterfront at Helford Passage or hop on a ferry across the river to Helford and visit the Shipwrights Arms.
Just over a mile away, the pretty village of Mawnan Smith provides a good range of local facilities with a shop and post office, thatched Inn and restaurant. Garden enthusiasts will be well catered for with Trebah and Glendurgan Gardens within 2 miles of the cottage. There is also ample opportunity to play golf, ride, hire a sailing boat or deep sea fish. Pleasure boat trips depart regularly from the nearby Budock Vean hotel. The vibrant port of Falmouth is just 4 miles away with its National Maritime Museum and abundance of shops and restaurants. Within an hour you can visit the surfing coasts of North Cornwall, the Eden Project, the Lizard Peninsula or St Ives and Lands End.
A former stable block, Stable Cottage retains a wealth of character and charm. The reverse level accommodation comprises two dual aspect bedrooms on the ground floor, a separate bathroom and a twin with en-suite shower room. A superb open plan living area runs the length of the first floor. Sunlight streams in to this room through the picture window at one end which opens out to a large south facing balcony, perfect for alfresco meals. There is an enclosed lawned garden and off street parking for two cars.

Falmouth, with its magnificent natural harbour (the third largest in the world), winding streets and beaches, will keep you occupied for hours. The town's old harbour-side pubs, excellent shopping, art gallery and stunning National Maritime Museum simply complete the picture. Pendennis Castle, built by Henry VIII, is Falmouth's most popular attraction, sited on its own peninsula with superb panoramic sea views. Across from Falmouth harbour is the beautiful town of St Mawes, surrounded by the rocky coves, sandy beaches and lush green countryside of the Roseland Peninsula. Go there by car (15 miles) or take the passenger ferry from Falmouth (15 minutes). For nature lovers there is the Swanpool Nature Reserve, a lagoon and SSSI teeming with a variety of wildlife. Falmouth offers such a rich variety of landscape and attractions for people of all ages, it is sure to tempt you back time and again.
