Ponsanooth has a great walk-to pub serving real ale and good food, plus a PO store for handy provisions. Falmouth is five miles away with four beaches,
harbour, Pendennis Castle and the National Maritime Museum. Inns, bars, cafes and restaurants plus art galleries, gift shops and retail stores dot the lanes and
make for a good browse, with pasties and fudge beckoning when hunger strikes! Sandcastles, swims and boat trips are all on offer. Take to the water for a fishing
excursion or pleasure trip. Board the ferry to St Mawes on the Roseland Peninsula - this charismatic coastal village is a hotspot for boating and yachting or
simply relax with a waterside cream tea. Within a 30 minute drive, the Cornish Atlantic coast boasts beaches and cliff top rambles. Godrevy, Gwithian, Portreath
and Porthtowan have beach cafes, surf schools and rock-pools. Inland attractions in Truro city include the cathedral, cinema and theatre (do book in advance)
and the Malpas River. Land's End is less than an hours drive with dramatic seascapes, and be sure to visit Marazion and iconic St Michaels Mount on the way!

Truro is the retail centre of Cornwall with a good range of independent shops as well as national stores all within a compact city centre. With its eclectic range of art galleries, bars, restaurants, cinema, theatre, museum and outstanding cathedral this small city is a superb year round destination. Steeped in history and intriguing architecture there is always plenty to do and see. Just meandering through the Georgian cobbled streets is a pleasure in itself. With many peaceful parks all within a short stroll from the centre it is a most relaxing city to visit. A wonderful day trip can be had from Truro to Falmouth along the stunning Fal estuary with many options to disembark and pick up the boat later along the scenic river trip.
