Within 2 miles of Rock where the beautiful beach stretches along the River Camel around to Daymer Bay, this mile long fine sand beach is fringed with dunes on which to play or rest. St Minver is a quaint and unspoilt village, where peace and quiet are assured. This is a highly desirable destination for couples and families seeking a timeless and restful base that is convenient for exploring the picturesque fishing villages, hidden coves, tall cliffs and expansive golden beaches of the North Cornish coastline. Rock is the choice for water sports enthusiasts, attracting yachtsmen, water skiers and anglers to its safe tidal lagoon, while Polzeath, just 4 miles away, and Daymer Bay are favoured among families drawn to rolling surf, long tracts of sandy beach and fascinating rock pools. You can catch the ferry from Rock to Padstow and Port Isaac is just 7 miles, lots to see and do within easy reach. There are many opportunities for outdoor pursuits with the first-class 18 hole links golf course at St Enodoc, cycle hire at The Camel Trail and superb walks along coastal and inland footpaths.
Nestled at the end of a row of cottages and next to the ancient 12th century church with its tall spire, Honeysuckle Cottage exudes an old-world charm. Typical for a quintessential Cornish cottage, the flagstone slate floor, beamed ceilings and deep set windows evoke the charm of a past era. The wood burning stove adds cosiness in the sitting room and additional heating throughout ensures it is comfortable for breaks during the cooler months. Sleeping arrangements are flexible with a double bedroom and a large bedroom equipped with a day bed and twin beds which can zip and link into a 6' bed. There is an elevated and enclosed garden at the rear with far reaching views.
Rock itself has a good selection of shops including a bakery, butchers and fish shop where you can buy fresh local fish, often caught by The Rock, Padstow or Port Isaac fisherman. Those of you who wish to dine out, The Fourways Inn serving Cornish ales and delicious pub menu is within a short stroll or try one of the restaurants in and around Rock including the famous Outlaws Restaurant.
