A lovely flat containing everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Really appreciated the cream tea on arrival - what a lovely way to start our holiday in Cornwall. Beautiful, peaceful garden. We've been very lucky as the weather has been lovely. We bought body bouards and the kids lovely the Helford Passage with all the boating activities.

Gwydhen is a super period apartment forming part of an Edwardian mansion in the picturesque little creekside village of Port Navas. This is one of the most sought after areas of south Cornwall's waterfront, renowned both for its scenic beauty and the superb day sailing waters of the Helford and Fal Rivers as well as Falmouth Bay. There are many safe beaches and coves in the area including Durgan on the banks of the Helford River as well as Maenporth, Swanpool and Gyllyngvase between the apartment and Falmouth. The South West Coast Path connects these beaches over stunning headlands that look out over Falmouth Bay linking various attractions and places to eat including the Ferry Boat Inn at Helford Passage and the public gardens at Glendurgan and Trebah. Falmouth, just six miles away, is host to the National Maritime Museum and Events Square which is the location for the onshore activities during Falmouth Sailing Week and various festivals including an oyster festival and the Sea Shanty Festival. A rail link from Falmouth leads to Truro, Cornwall's capital city, that has many national and independent retailers amongst its attractive Georgian and Victorian cobbled streets. The villages of Mawnan Smith and Constantine, both with village shops, are within two miles, as is the Trengilly Wartha Inn, an excellent country pub that has won many awards for its beer and food. Why not stroll down to the Quay at Port Navas Yacht Club which is open Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtime for freshly cooked local produce. Gwydhen (Cornish for 'Tree') is an upper floor apartment with original features and large windows taking in views across the 3 acres of glorious gardens which include a Japanese Garden with a zig-zag walkway across a 'dry ocean'. There are plenty of places to sit and take in these truly inspiring gardens. Equipped with a double and twin bedroom, the accommodation is spacious and comfortable and ideal for couples and families. There is a large sitting room with an open fire and ample comfy seating with big windows to maximise the garden views. The kitchen is well equipped for your self-catering holiday. Take a soak in the spotlessly clean bathroom after a hard days exploring. Gwydhen is a real home from home in a great spot for exploring this very special part of Cornwall.
