What our property appraiser Jilly thinks
Calac Cottage has been regularly renovated over recent years to provide a very comfortable cottage in the centre of Mousehole. The sitting room has a granite fireplace with an electric wood burner, two comfortable sofas and dining table. The pretty sage green kitchen is well equipped with a washer drier and fridge freezer. The new family bathroom is on the ground floor and has a bath with shower over, plus the luxury of under floor heating. Upstairs there are three bedrooms for four guests, a double, small 4' double and compact single, offering flexibility together with comfort. The real bonus of this cottage is that it is within easy, relatively flat walking distance of the harbour and restaurants. Guests could also holiday without a car as there are regular bus services into Penzance.
All our properties are personally appraised by our team, who work in association with Visit England to ensure quality standards are upheld.

Comfortable Accommodation

This Cornish cottage is right in the heart of charismatic Mousehole. Perfectly positioned to relish every moment in this, famous, quaint fishing village. This south facing cottage is just a stroll to the quayside where locals swim, launch their kayaks and fishermen still land their daily catch of fresh mackerel, lobster and crab. Come in from a busy day by the seaside, through the sunroom into a bright and cheerful living room, where the age-old features of shelved alcoves beside a granite stone fireplace still remain, adding traditional ambience and character. A partially glazed wall adds borrowed light to both this room and the kitchen, attractively fitted with pale sage cabinets adds to the cottage appeal. Paintings by local artists add bright splashes of colour to the pastel walls of three tastefully presented bedrooms, which adds versatility to the accommodation for four. You'll find yourself wandering past the traditional cottages of Mousehole where several galleries, a general store, post office, two friendly inns, restaurants and cafes serving cream teas, are there to tempt you. The little harbourside sandy beach offers an idyllic spot for sketching and imaginative photography, and safe sheltered bathing. Within a short drive are both colourful Marazion and the sunny town of Penzance, bustling with attractive streets with antique and craft shops, pubs and eating houses. A hot spot not to miss is the stunning golden sand at Porthcurno Beach, with its fantastic Mediterranean feel. The popular Sennen beach, a paradise for surfers is only a short drive away. Parking at the cottage can sometimes be found in the vicinity or the harbour car park is within 150 yards.

We visit Cornwall several times on family holidays but never come down
to Mousehole. Wow, it is so lovely...very traditional Cornish, lovely atmosphere and fabulous atmosphere and it has a lovely relaxing feel. Just wandering around the streets up and down visiting the galleries and little shops. Calac cottage was great just what our family needed. The girls enjoyed their bedrooms- very comfortable. Thank you for making it very welcoming and cosy for our stay; think we have all agreed that we would love to return here to Mousehole and stay in Calac Cottage again. See you soon hopefully!

Highlights – Porthcurno and Sennen beaches, rockpool for children at Mouse hole, Jessies Dairy`s Crab Night, fish shop in Newlyn, chilled pace of life, no night light pollution and so quiet. Thank you.
