• Enchanting converted 'Net Loft' just a few yards from the harbourside • Exposed timber beams and granite walls • Superb bolthole for families, couples and friends • One minute walk to beach • Character in abundance • Paces from good restaurants, traditional inns and galleries
This charming converted Netloft nestles in the centre of the picturesque fishing village of Mousehole, one of Cornwall's hidden gems, famous for its Christmas lights, with views from the harbour across Mount's Bay to St Michael's Mount. The village fishing heritage dates back to 1266 and the tightly knitted streets and lanes are full of local Lamorna granite built cottages. Mousehole was also believed to have been the home of the last person to speak only Cornish and her house is marked with a plaque. Perfect for a stroll to a host of pubs and restaurants, collect some provisions from the excellent delicatessan, or use the property as a base for touring Cornwall with beaches and sheltered coves, some fantastic walking as well as attractions which include Lands End, Flambards Theme Park, numerous National Trust properties and Gardens and the Minack Theatre at Porthcurno. Conveniently located in its heart this once modest net loft situated above the old village bark house (where nets were treated), has been transformed into an enchanting holiday home. The interior design cleverly reflects the centuries old tradition of life bound up with the sea and has immense appeal. Reversed style accommodation affords a view of the harbour and Mousehole Island from the open plan living room which incorporates kitchen and dining areas. The property itself is set over two floors and is accessed via granite steps leading to the first floor level. Once inside the smart décor and considered design offers a warm welcome. There are three stylish bedrooms and a pristine family bathroom on the first floor. Above is the versatile living/dining/kitchen space featuring a lofty ceiling with exposed beams and velux windows to make it extremely light and airy. There is a sea view from one of the windows in the gable end. The modern fully fitted kitchen is spacious enough for all in the party to get involved. A large dining table is set within the living area whilst the relaxed seating is perfect for a cosy winters afternoon or a quiet evening after a day exploring. Comfortably furnished and well equipped, open beams and exposed granite walls add to its character. Although there is no garden, the harbour is only a few steps away where you can sit back and enjoy the colourful scene.
