“The property was exactly as advertised.”

Excellent location and amazing views from the living room. Off road parking a bonus and a nice garden area too. However, some general maintenance issues were apparent. The cold tap in the main bathroom is loose. The corner kitchen base unit door hinge is broken. The freezer compartment in the fridge freezer is dirty. The tap in the downstairs shower room when in use is stiff and difficult to use. One of the lounge chairs collapsed due to loose bolts. This issue was dealt with when the house ...

This issue was dealt with when the house keeper and owner were contacted. We are highlighting these issues, not as a criticism, but because they have been highlighted before. If attended to, would enhance the property even further.

The property

The magnificent sea view across Mounts Bay and proximity to the village centre make Wootton Gray the perfect holiday retreat.

Within a few moments walk of the house are two small sandy beaches providing a safe play area for children and shelter for sunbathers.

Life in the fishing village of Mousehole centres around the postcard pretty harbour where colourful fishing boats are still moored.

At Christmas it is the focal point for the famous Mousehole Christmas Lights when the village is illuminated by over 7,000 bulbs.

Mousehole is an ideal location from which to explore the Lands End peninsular; walk the south west coast path, surf the waves at Sennen, learn to sail in Marazion or explore the old tin mines perched dramatically on the cliffs below Pendeen.

The white sands of Porthcurno, Porthgwarra, Sennen and St Ives should satisfy beach goers whilst garden lovers will be kept happy with a trip to Trengwainton, famous for the early spring blooms of rhododendrons and camellias. For an evening to remember, take a picnic (and a blanket) to a moonlit play the Minack Theatre but be sure to book ahead, with the glittering sea as a backdrop it is simply magical.

Built against a hillside in a quiet residential area, a flight of steps leads down to the entrance of this detached split level house.

The sunny, south-facing living room running the full width of the house has two picture windows framing Mounts Bay and the telescope provided may reward you with sightings of seals or dolphins.

With a hatch separating the well equipped kitchen from the dining area, there is a lovely open plan feel.

Downstairs is a double bedroom with its own shower room and a further sitting area; from here there is access to the terrace and enclosed garden with a bench table and sofa set for al fresco dining.

About the location

MOUSEHOLE

Penzance 4 miles; St Ives 12 miles.

A delightful fishing village nestled on a hillside and spilling down to the shore. The picturesque harbour, surrounded by its maze of winding narrow streets, draws visitors from miles around, while in the distance St Michael's Mount stands proudly in the centre of Mounts Bay. A fabulous coastline and miles of spectacular walking characterise the area, with seabirds, seals and wild headlands leading just around the corner to Land's End. The Minack cliff-top theatre is a few miles along the coast, while reminders of the region's ancient past in the form of Dolmens and standing stones appear everywhere. St Ives, with its stunning beaches, beautiful harbour and narrow winding streets is just 12 miles away.
