Short walk to a great pub Woodburner Free WiFi Enclosed garden Great for coastpath access near Rinsey Cove Short drive to Mounts Bay

** Great discounts at Driftwood Cottage: 20% off the 22nd April, and 10% off the 6th May ** Not far from Helston, Driftwood Cottage would be a great base for visitors to the town's Flora Day!

The peaceful village of Ashton lies just over a mile from the coastal path and picturesque sandy cove at Rinsey, where beach goers and surfers follow the winding footpath down towards the hidden sands and rock pools below the old mine stack that pin points this lovely piece of coastline. There is a family run pub within a short 2 minute stroll whilst Porthleven is just 3 miles from Driftwood Cottage, with its array of restaurants (including Rick Stein's), cafes, pubs and gift shops. Walkers will delight in the stunning views from the coastal footpath leading to the nearby Loe Bar and beyond, and for those keen to catch their own supper, fishing trips leave from the harbour throughout the summer season. Famous St Michael's Mount at Marazion and the ancient market town at Helston are a ten minute drive in opposite directions, whilst St Ives, Falmouth and Penzance can be reached within a 30 minute drive. A charming gated garden leads into this charismatic cottage that was once a traditional miner's cottage dating as far back as the 1800s. Carefully restored with exposed granite walls and beamed ceilings, the rooms are full of character. A wood burning stove creates a cosy atmosphere in the comfortable sitting room. The well presented dining room has an open aspect into the well equipped kitchen where a stable door leads outside. Stairs lead up to two very attractive bedrooms decorated to a high standard with the use of pastel shades and soft furnishings whilst the twin room has distant views of the sea. There is an enclosed rear garden with attractive patio. Parking can be easily found on the road outside the property.

A very neat and comfortable cottage. Ideal holiday let.

Chris and Jayne

We loved our stay in this picture perfect cottage! Excellent base for many wonderful places to visit. Ideal for coastal walks and beaches. A very enjoyable holiday-we hope to come again.

Jane and Ray

A lovely cottage and a warm welcome from the owner. Great walks and close to some nice places to visit. Perfect week of fun, rest and quality family time.

Natalie, Liam and Robson

So lovely to be back at Driftwood again. Loved the new decor and the welcome tray. Lovely walks to Prussia Cove, Porthcurno, Mullion and Praa Sands. Pity the spring sunshine didn't quite shine on us all the time but Cornwall is beautiful in all weather!

Keith and Gill

This is our first time at Driftwood for a 2 week stay. As a family of 3 this was a perfect stay and the neighbours are really friendly. The cottage was excellent and very cosy. We picked this location for the many coastal walks. We cannot fault anything and will come again.

Allison, Dave and Grace

A delightful cottage with everything you need. Good location for coastal walks. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our week local pub ‘The Lion & Lamb’ very good for a hearty pub meal. Visit Amelie’s restaurant in Porthleven for excellent fish dishes.

.

Just a note to say thank you for equipping the cottage with comprehensive contents. We particularly appreciate the cleanliness, décor and good quality items like towels. Ann and Ted have been superstars and nothing was too much trouble.

.

We have really enjoyed our stay at Driftwood. We love the character of the cottage, so clean and simple and very welcoming. We had a fabulous meal at Amelie's at the Smokehouse in Porthleven.

.

The nicest cottage that we have ever stayed in since we have been coming to Cornwall.

Laurent, Louise and the kids

A well equipped cottage with everything you would have in your own home. It was spotlessly clean and the decor was of a very high standard.
