Smuggler's Cottage, Trebarwith

Property Description

Just paces from the sandy beach at Trebarwith Strand is Smuggler's Cottage, a beautifully presented cottage offering cosy accommodation for two. Trebarwith Strand is an unspoilt cove on the north coast of Cornwall; Rugged Gull Rock creates a dramatic backdrop to the beach which at low tide extends for a mile under the vast cliffs which line this beautiful stretch of heritage coastline. Foodies will be well catered for in Trebarwith, home to two cafes and a public house; The Port William which nestles into the cliff overlooking the beach and the highly regarded Mill House Inn and restaurant which is within 5 minutes walk. Trebarwith Strand is the ideal location to learn to surf with a surf school on the lifeguard patrolled beach whilst more extensive water based activities such as water skiing, sailing, diving and fishing trips are available on The Camel Estuary from the village of Rock, approximately 30 minutes by car. The South West Coastal path runs through the village and is perhaps at its most scenic heading east where it passes mystical Tintagel Castle on its way to Boscastle. In the west, the quintessentially Cornish twin fishing villages of Port Isaac and Port Gaverne are worthy of a visit and may be recognised as the home of the television favourite Doc Martin! Those after more action packed fun will enjoy a day trip along The Camel Trail, a 17 mile cycle track which runs from Padstow along the Camel River. Smuggler's Cottage has a lovely light and bright open plan living space with a wood burning stove to warm those cooler evenings. There is a well equipped compact kitchen to one side and a romantic bedroom to the other. The owners have provided a tasty cream tea which awaits you on arrival. Parking is in a nearby car park where weekly tickets can be purchased.
