Noted for its Bronze Age 'Stone Circle' of quartz standing stones, Duloe sits in a rolling valley that is full of birdsong and flower scents almost all year round. Looe and Polperro offer a vibrant atmosphere with plenty to see and do, and taste! Other places to explore in the area include the protected Seaton Valley, Downderry beaches and the beachside villages of Kingsand and Cawsand and perhaps a ferry ride to Plymouth. Visit Mount Edgecombe or the cliffs and sandy beaches of Whitsand Bay. A car ferry will even take you to the famous sailing town of Fowey, the Eden Project or Lost Gardens of Heligan. Golfers can enjoy a choice of courses within easy driving distance. Just along the road in the village there is a rather trendy, newly refurbished public house 'The Plough', and a Community store. With spacious accommodation and three bedrooms comfortably sleeping up to five guests, Stonetown Cottage is warm and cosy with full central heating, and has an attractive fireplace with electric log effect fire and farmhouse style kitchen. The character of old beams, small paned windows with wide sills, timber panelled walls and quaint stairway is enhanced by the warm welcome and access to the most attractive gardens which back directly onto the famous Stone Circle, and look south down the valley. The extensive gardens to the front of Stonetown, (mostly to the side of the owners' house) are for the guests' exclusive use. There are lovely views over the rolling countryside from the upper patio area where guests can relax and enjoy the scenery from the summerhouse - a spot that always proves to be a popular hideaway. There is a garage and plenty of parking for anyone wishing to bring a dinghy!
