Just four miles from Newquay and seven from Padstow, the little hamlet of Tregurrian sits above the beautiful sands of Watergate Bay where a ten minute stroll down hill will take you down to the one of the finest surfing beaches in the country which was voted 'Best Beach for Surfers' by The Times newspaper (May 2010). For those seeking an action packed holiday the Extreme Academy provides an amazing water sport playground for any age. Groups can enjoy a taste of the beach life with 'Extreme Days' where wave-ski, surfing, traction kiting and mountain boarding can be sampled, you will also find the O'Neill Surf Academy here for expert tuition. If however surfing is not your thing the huge expanse of beach is perfect for sand castle building and the walk along the cliff tops is exhilarating for its scenery and views to Newquay and beyond. In May 2006, Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Cornwall arrived at Watergate Bay, bringing an innovative menu of the best seasonal and local produce and an incredible view over a beautiful two-mile beach. Lying in a small close of modern terraced cottages, Bayview is furnished in a contemporary style with neutral cream sofas and a slate floored dining area. An open staircase leads up to pretty first floor bedrooms with sea views (please take care with young children). A well fitted kitchen leads out to a sheltered deck patio at the rear. There is allocated parking for one car.
