Nestled in the heart of Port Isaac, Creel Cottage is a traditional fishermen's cottage just moments from the picturesque harbour and beach. Widely recognised as the location for the television series Poldark and more recently Doc Martin, Port Isaac is a quintessential Cornish fishing village situated on the north coast within what is both a region of outstanding natural beauty and a heritage coast area. Charismatic and possessing a timeless appeal, white washed and slate fronted fisherman's cottages hug narrow winding streets and fishing boats still operate from the sheltered harbour. Visitors can explore this stunning stretch of coastline onboard a pleasure boat (during the summer months) or walk the scenic coastal path across cliff tops that descend into hidden sandy coves. The walk to neighbouring Port Gaverne will transport ramblers to a pretty inlet with a small beach (at low tide) with rock pools that never fail to fascinate and entertain children. The beach at Polzeath is 4 miles away and is widely renowned as one of the best surfing beaches in the UK. Comfortably furnished, the living/dining room features a plump mocha coloured sofa and arm chair and an open fire, providing accommodation that is both homely and cosy for out of season breaks. Upstairs are a comfortable double and twin bedroom and a family bathroom with a separate shower. Ideally positioned for surfing at Polzeath and Trebarwith Strand, golfing at Roserrow and sailing at Rock, this sweet little cottage with its period features provides a convenient base from which to explore it all. Parking can be found in the car park at the top of the village and for anyone not wishing to drive, there is a regular bus service running between Bude and Newquay, via Port Isaac, Boscastle, Tintagel, Polzeath, Rock and Padstow.
