Property Description
If you are looking for a peaceful self catering holiday cottage in South Devon with beautiful views over green and rolling hills, just 4 miles from Dartmouth, within easy reach of the towns of Totnes, Kingsbridge and Salcombe, and a short drive to the spectacular beach of Blackpool Sands and Dartmoor National Park; then Lower Tideford Farm with its 5 holiday cottages may be just what you are looking for. Converted from a working dairy farm, the cottages were the original stone-built barns and retain a wealth of character features, each one presented to an excellent standard throughout. Attractively furnished and very well equipped the cottages all benefit from dishwashers and power showers, each one with glorious views over the valley. Set down a long private drive well away from the road, the cottages are arranged around a very attractive courtyard each with their own garden furniture to relax on sunny days. A barn to the rear of the courtyard is equipped with table tennis and basket ball net and is a great space for children to play without the worry of disturbing adults who wish to unwind and soak in the peace and tranquillity of the valley and surrounding countryside. A communal laundry room is provided with a washing machine and tumble dryer and additional freezer space for those who require it. Barbecues are also available for guests use. Once the original threshing barn, Salcombe still houses the original old wheel that would once drive the machinery powered by a traction engine from outside. Light and spacious with vaulted ceilings and exposed roof trusses, this attractive cottage arranged over two floors in a reverse style, allows access from both the ground floor via a small private patio and the open plan lounge through French doors leading on to a small balcony with the original slate steps down to the courtyard below. There is parking for one car.
