Mevagissey is a truly picturesque, 14th Century fishing village at the end of a valley conveniently near the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project. Within the charming, olde worlde narrow streets find a great variety of gift shops, craft workshops, galleries, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Explore the many local coves and sandy beaches with Polstreath only a short walk away. For a longer walk, try the 3 mile coastal walk to Portmellon, Gorran Haven or Pentewan, all offering magnificent expanses of white sand. Amongst the excellent variety of beaches in the area, Hemmick, reached by winding lanes, has rock pools and sheltered coves, ideal for those who prefer a little more seclusion. Experience the enthralling view from the spectacular 400ft high Dodman Point described as the boldest and most striking of headlands between Falmouth and Plymouth, known also for its many shipwrecks!For those who wish to take it easy, buses run regularly from the centre of Mevagissey. Parking in Mevagissey can be a headache, however, by arrangement a parking space just 100 metres from your doorstep can be organised at £35 per week.
