Just moments from the pretty seafront with its sandy beach and pastel coloured houses, stands The Old Chapel, a radical Modernist conversion of a 1790 Methodist chapel carried out in 1968. With accommodation arranged over three floors, The Old Chapel was designed in the style of the famous modernist architect Erno Goldfinger. The open plan living space which spans the whole of the top floor is flooded with sunlight and affords delightful views over the cottage rooftops to Plymouth Sound. Although the predominant style is one of clean lines and simplicity, visitors will appreciate the owners' wide collection of paintings, photographs and African textiles, as well as the classic Modernist pieces throughout the property. There are also books for children, naval uniforms for dressing up, shrimping nets and children's wet suits. Kingsand, although connected by three different ferry routes with Plymouth, is untouched by gift shops and fast food, and scarcely touched by traffic. The nearest beach is 110 paces from The Old Chapel, and there are others, increasingly unpopulated the further you walk. The village has an air of times past and as you wander through streets too narrow for cars and explore the half a mile of rock pools you will feel the stresses of modern day life ebb away. There are coastal fortifications to explore within an easy walk, and the village borders Mount Edgcumbe Park, one of the great landscape parks of the eighteenth century. There are fresh fish and vegetables to be bought locally, and four pubs which serve excellent food. Plymouth has fast rail links, four flights daily to London (and elsewhere), and car ferries to Roscoff and Santander. Parking can be found in a nearby public car park.

Bed linen and towels provided. The property offers accommodation over three floors and has a mixture of carpet, lino and rugs throughout. External and internal doors are of standard width and height. Kitchen worktops are of a standard height. Parking can be found in a nearby public car park or roadside parking (subject to availability) on a tarmac surface. From the car park and road there is a steep incline to the property entrance.
