The village is near to the banks of the Helford River, an unspoilt estuary with timeless appeal evocative of the famous five. The deep sheltered waters and hidden creeks are interspersed by pretty villages such as Durgan and Helford Passage from where you can catch a passenger ferry across to Helford on the Lizard Peninsula. The coastal town of Falmouth is just 3 miles from Newlyn and there you will find a plethora of sights and activities for all the family. Relax on one of the sandy beaches at Swanpool or Gyllanvase or hop on a boat and take a trip across to the exclusive village of St Mawes for a spot of lunch on the waterfront.
