Property Description

Sitting prettily on the hilltop overlooking two of the rivers that flow from Truro out past St Mawes and Falmouth, this perfect little cottage has been lovingly prepared and oozes unending charm and intrigue. The little hamlets of Calenick, Porthkea and nearby Coombe lead down to the rivers edge and provide a maze of paths for walkers and bird lovers. The Cathedral City of Truro is only a ten minute drive offering many attractions including very popular pedestrianised shopping and evening entertainment, as can also be found in Falmouth along with its beaches and harbours. The National Trust Estate at Trelissick is only ten minutes away and other riverside areas, charming pubs and restaurants, and gardens along the waters edge from Feock to Flushing are second to none. With easy access via the King Harry car ferry all year round the beautiful beaches of the Roseland Peninsula are within easy reach. Even Perranporth sands on the North Coast are just twenty minutes away. Trethowell Cottage is a darling cottage, spacious and comfortable. There is a fabulous open plan living space centred around a wood burner. The kitchen has a fascinating collection of items from bygone days all kept in the best of condition for the nostalgic pleasure of guests. The family dog will be happy to find a cosy place in the utility room. Upstairs there is one large master bedroom, twin bedroom and single bedroom, all finished with special bedding and linens and with views to the fields or down to the rivers. The large family bathroom has views in both directions and is bright and adorned with curios that lift the spirits. To the rear of the house is a pretty enclosed garden surrounded by fields, and sometimes sheep and cows!
