Property Description
Flushing Meadow, with sea views towards Falmouth Bay, is perfectly situated in the tiny unspoilt gem of Gillan village, on the mouth of the Helford River. The property is placed in a quiet and rural idyll looking directly over its one acre garden and the ancient oak woodland valley to Gillan Greek and Dennis Head. The shingle beach at Flushing Cove, west of Gillan harbour, is a 250 yard walk down the road. From there you can walk your dog west along the riverbank towards the civil parish of Manaccan or northwest to Helford village. About 1.5 miles east lies the rocky Mên-aver Beach with further walks along Lestowder Cliff leading to Nare Point, the famed observation point with outstanding panoramic views to Falmouth. Gillan Cove can be reached after a five minute coastal path stroll, with St Anthony on the opposite bank of the creek with its fabulous sheltered beach where sailing boats, motorboats, kayaks and dinghies can be hired. There are many interesting fishing coves to visit on the Lizard Peninsula or the larger stretches of sand at Kennack, Poldhu and the spectacular National Trust Cove of Kynance. The lively town of Falmouth is a half hour drive away. Visit the popular Gyllynvase Blue Flag status beach or walk the picturesque streets and browse the art and craft galleries. Satisfy hunger in one of the restaurants or cafes and sample traditional Cornish ale from the many inns. This red brick house offers spacious, comfortable family accommodation, with a generous open plan sitting/dining room with double patio doors to one aspect overlooking the garden, with large lawn and sea views.
