Set away from main roads and with a small patio area at the front of the property with table and chairs for sunny breakfasts, Atlantic Cottage is ideal for families, although the beach is accessed down some very steep steps, so care must be taken with young children. The attractive harbour and village with several shops, restaurants and pubs is only a short stroll away while the ancient market town of Helston, gateway to the Lizard Peninsula, is less than a three mile walk through the beautiful Penrose Estate and owned by the National Trust. Enjoy the uniquely beautiful shingle beach at Loe Bar and Loe Pool, the largest freshwater lake in Cornwall. Explore the secret coves from atop the coastal path or venture down - Coverack and Kynance Cove are particularly stunning. Busy Newlyn with its working harbour of fishing boats and hire-boats is within easy driving distance, and Penzance has something for everyone. The sublime beaches at Porthcurno, Praa Sands and Marazion, all nestling in Mounts Bay, are must-stop destinations. St Michael's Mount is the jewel in Cornwall's crown. Wander across the cobbled causeway at low tide to this semi island with castle and tiny quay and enjoy a cream tea or glass of beer from one of the eateries whilst watching the sailing boats and kite-surfers skimming the glistening waters.
