Bligh's Nook, Nr Camelford
Property Description
Tucked away in rural serenity near the town of Camelford, this cosy barn conversion makes for a romantic countryside bolt-hole, within easy reach of fabulous beaches and quaint fishing harbours on the north Cornish coastline. Bligh's Nook, named after Captain Bligh, the owner's ancestor, sits in 170 acres of farmland. Discover the quiet footpaths leading down to sheltered river banks where time can be idled away picnicking and fishing, or enjoying scenic rambles across nearby moorland to rocky tors. Nestling at the rear of the owner's farmhouse with its own private outlook and an elevated sun terrace overlooking the solar panel heated plunge pool, the property is welcoming and makes for a superb haven. The interior is open plan, to include a living room with dining, kitchen and bed area. There is a separate wet room. The vaulted beamed ceiling adds a light, bright ambiance to a room where a corner wood burner will keep you toasty during off season breaks. Relax on the terrace with a cool drink, or create barbecue wizardry at the end of a fun day or take a dip in the plunge pool. Camelford is an attractive town on the River Camel at the edge of the unspoilt landscape of Bodmin Moor, famed for its legends and folklore. Discover the picturesque fishing village of Port Isaac, with characterful winding narrow lanes lined with pretty cottages and good foodie pubs, neighbouring Port Gaverne with its small sandy beach, or Polzeath Beach, superb for surfing. Venture to the ruins of Tintagel Castle, claimed to be King Arthur's birthplace positioned aloft on the rugged coastline with fabulous views, and a café for refreshments. Trebarwith Strand Beach sits at the end of a scenic valley and can be reached by climbing over the rocks. Vibrant Padstow, a half hours drive away has superb restaurants, traditional inns, galleries, shops and beaches galore.
