This delightful Cornish Long House which dates back to the 1800's is within easy reach of the superb beach at Trebarwith Strand, Lime Tree Cottage forms the original part of a country house standing in 7 acres of secluded grounds which are carpeted with wild flowers in spring. Ideal for families, lazy summer days can be idled away in the garden enjoying time together. The spacious lawned garden is a perfect space for childrens activities such as croquet (set provided) and other summer games, while the large landcaped garden with mature trees and shrubs is a wonderful area to pay hide and seek. The pretty lattice windows allow sunlight to fill the rooms overlooking the gardens and the magnificent lime tree after which the cottage is named. Situated at the head of the Allen Valley, the cottage is less than a mile from St Teath with its pub and village stores. A little further afield are the delightful coastal villages of Port Isaac and Polzeath and their better known neighbours, the popular resorts of Padstow and Rock, all of which are within easy driving distance. The north coast is a haven for activities with surfing beaches, sailing and boat trips in abundance. Land lovers can hire a bike and cycle along the Camel Trail which takes in Padstow, Wadebridge and Bodmin or play a round at one of the many golf courses in the area. A period cottage of charm and character, the rambling interior boasts slate floors, beamed ceilings and a warm, welcoming ambience. Although no longer in use the granite Inglenook fireplace, complete with a traditional Cornish cloam oven, is a handsome feature of the comfortable sitting room. Across the slate tiled hall is the dining room with attractive oak dining table and a snug area with seating, the perfect place to curl up with a book and enjoy the view across the garden. Curiously sloping floors in various bedrooms are evidence of the age and character of Lime Tree Cottage. The pretty cottage gardens are a charming feature being south facing and enjoying a good degree of privacy. There is parking for three cars. For larger groups, Fig Tree Cottage is adjacent to Lime Tree and booked together will accommodate a maximum of 12 people.
