Mevagissey is still a working fishing harbour, but has grown into a busy village with many cafes, inns, shops and restaurants. It is just a five minute walk down the hill from Kenton onto the harbour to enjoy an ice cream or coffee. More energetic guests may choose to take the cliff path from the harbour to Polstreath beach, which is accessed by a long series of steps. This hidden sandy beach, which emerges at low tide, is rarely busy and is worth the trek back up. Heading eastwards the broad beach and welcoming pub at Pentewan are a couple of miles away while five minutes to the west is the small cove of Portmellon. A thirty minute walk will bring guests to Chapel Point; the focus of the view from the house. For garden lovers The Lost Gardens of Heligan are about three miles away by footpath from the centre of the village and a few minutes by car; The Eden project is within 10 miles and the tranquil Pinetum Gardens (formerly Pine Lodge) are in St Austell. Kenton is a comfortable, well maintained and attractive bungalow. The living room has two large sets of French doors which open onto a broad sea facing terrace. Steps lead down to a spacious enclosed garden of lawns and flower beds (please note that Toddlers will need supervision).
