Property Description

A three mile stretch of beach, lovely coastal walks and intoxicating sea air are ingredients that attract visitors to Porthleven, a fishing village for centuries. Standing yards from the sea wall with wonderful sea views, Cliffwell House is well situated yards from the beach, with the harbour, shops and restaurants very close by, giving you the freedom to explore without the necessity to drive and the chance to linger and soak up the atmosphere of the harbour-side. The front path leads directly to the coastal path, on to the beautiful Loe Bar and lake and the National Trust Penrose estate. This spacious double fronted stone cottage built in 1887 retains a characteristic charm. A blend of traditional and country pine furnishings add comfort to a warmly carpeted interior that is both attractive and welcoming. The thick stone walls, open beamed ceilings (especially low at top of the stairs) and steps up and down into the bedrooms add to the quaintness. The two seaward facing bedrooms, which have a small sitting room between them, have lovely views. There is a very private split level courtyard at the rear of the cottage, which is a sheltered place to sit. Car parking for one car at the rear of the house.
