Boar's House, Nr Penzance
Code: 1314
Set betwixt Penzance and St Ives in the moorland region of Ding Dong this is a peaceful escape within a short drive of the coast
Property Description
Found down narrow winding lanes in the peace and tranquillity of the countryside three miles from Penzance and seven from St Ives, the delightfully named mining region of Ding Dong is an area of moorland steeped in ancient history with mystic Neolithic sites and old mining relics that echo Cornwall's past. Set in south facing gardens with views extending out over the landscape to St Michael's Mount and the Lizard Peninsula on a clear day, The Boar's House is a romantic escape from the rigours of every day. Painstakingly restored from a run down and neglected stone barn, an internal inspection will reveal many original features carefully integrated with the trappings of modern day. Rustic slate with under floor heating extends into a lounge with French doors leading out to the garden and furnished with a comfortable blue suite, and on into a kitchen fitted with cream Shaker cabinets with solid beech worktops and a Belfast sink. Upstairs the double bedroom is full of character. Capturing the sun for most of the day the garden is a sylvan oasis in which to let time drift by whether with a leisurely breakfast or toasting the sunset at the end of the day. Peaceful rambles will give an opportunity to witness nature at its best and although you are unlikely to meet a boar, quiet paths lead out over a rugged terrain amongst heather and moorland flowers, whilst buzzards and kestrels soar effortlessly in the sky above. Superb walking and riding country, facilities are available nearby for anyone wishing to bring their own horse. This is a wonderful area to explore without being remote. Penzance, Marazion and the superb white sand beaches of St Ives are not far away. There is parking for two cars on a gravel area just behind the property.
