Property Description
Situated in St Austell less than two miles inland from the coast this former engine house, once a significant component of Cornwall's mining landscape, has been skillfully converted into a select development of contemporary apartments. Fowey and Charlestown each accommodates 4 people (plus double sofa bed to accommodate two additional guests on request) and offer flexibility for larger groups when booked together. Both apartments are seaward facing and positioned on the first floor from where they enjoy panoramic views over the town and the great sweep of St Austell Bay which sits at the heart of the Cornish Riviera. The landscape here is diverse, a paradise for walkers and nature lovers, it combines unspoiled countryside, beautiful woodlands and sub-tropical gardens with a stunning coastline dotted with quaint fishing villages, hidden coves and golden beaches. The long beaches at Pentewen and Porthpean and the harbour villages of Mevagissey, Charlestown and Fowey are within a 15 minute drive and some of Cornwall's best gardens, including the Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan are also close by. St Austell itself has a full range of amenities and the 4 screen cinema, ten pin bowling, Kids World (indoor children's play area), Cornish Market (the country's largest indoor market) and new shopping centre provide entertainment on rainy days. The apartments are presented to a high standard throughout with a large open plan living room (incorporating a kitchen, dining and sitting area), two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
