More about the property
Anneth Lowen, Cornish for Happy Homestead, is situated slightly inland from the coastline at Mount's Bay, described as one of the most beautiful bays in the world. Nestled amid local life in a row of pretty terrace cottages in the village of Ashton, couples and small families will find it conveniently placed for a beach holiday with the scenic coastal footpath and the soft sandy beaches at Rinsey Cove and the fishing village of Porthleven little more than a 5 minute drive. Head south along the coast and in two miles is the fine beach resort of Praa Sands and its 9 hole coastal golf course and a little further on is the much-loved town of Marazion and the Medieval castle topped island of St Michael's Mount. Noted for its picturesque fishing villages and white sandy coves, the Lizard Peninsula is 30 minutes by car and the ancient market town of Helston, with its shops and amenities is 10 minutes by car. Blending modern furnishings with character features, this charming tin miner's cottage offers comfort and excellent value for money. The plump settees and soft deep pile carpet add a homely ambience to the sitting room and the glow of an electric coal-effect fire set in an exposed granite hearth provides a cosy atmosphere to return to after vitalising winter walks along windswept shores. A modest bathroom and a well equipped kitchen/diner with a second electric coal-effect fire complete the ground floor accommodation. Equipped with quality beds/mattresses, there is an attractive single and double bedroom (with sea glimpses) located on the first floor. An enclosed garden at the rear is a sheltered spot for outdoor relaxation, there is off-road parking in front of the cottage for one car and a village pub serving delicious ales and meals within a 5 minute walk.
