The vibrant maritime town of Falmouth, home of the world's second largest natural harbour is just a 5 minute drive away and here visitors can enjoy a multitude of sights and activities. A visit to The National Martime Museum; a celebration of the sea, boats and Cornwall is a must as is a boat trip along the scenic River Fal to Truro. Take a tour around Pendennis Castle, one of the finest of the mighty fortresses built by Henry VIII, or hop across the estuary to its sister castle in the beautiful village of St Mawes. Falmouth has a plethora of shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants, including Rick Steins new seafood bar. Other activities in the area include sailing, dolphin watching, canoeing and scuba diving. The Helford River and Lizard Peninsula are a short drive to the east as well as the beautiful sub-tropical gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan. Maple is a timber clad house offering flexible accommodation; there are three bedrooms including a double with a 5' bed, a second double with a snug 4 ft bed and a twin bedroom. To the rear of the house is a fabulous enclosed decked sun terrace which also enjoys delightful views across rolling countryside. There is ample parking near to the house. For larger groups, Maple is situated near to Rowan which also sleeps six.
