A beautiful destination for a relaxing break at any time of year, Fuchsia Cottage is a 5 minute stroll from the picturesque tidal creek in the ever-popular village of Devoran which is situated between the county city of Truro and the maritime town of Falmouth at the head of Restronguet Creek on Cornwall's south coast. Occupying a south west facing position at the end of a charming terrace of period cottages, its white washed exterior is approached along a short garden path and steps to an entrance porch where seating provides a sheltered and peaceful spot to observe the far reaching views across the creek towards wooded countryside. An area of outstanding natural beauty and one of the 'Cornwall Nature Conservation Sites', Devoran attracts walkers and cyclists to its safe and off-road scenic cycle trails which reach as far as the seaside resort of Portreath on the north coast. Cycle hire facilities are located nearby and water sports enthusiasts are also well catered for with boat hire and sailing, windsurfing and kayaking tuition (for the novice through to the more experienced) at Loe Beach. Golfers will find the 18 hole Killiow Golf Course is a 5 minute drive and naturalists will be tempted to explore the National Trust owned Trelissick Gardens, set on the shores of the Fal River from where pleasure boats operate to Falmouth and Truro. After action packed days out, all the family will find a warm welcome at The Old Quay Inn (which is less than a 5 minute walk) and comfortable and attractive accommodation to return home to.
