Respryn House, Porthallow

Property Description

A homely welcome awaits the discerning traveller at this spacious house, nestling only footsteps away from gently sloping Porthallow beach. In the heart of a small, unspoilt fishing village situated on the east coast of the Lizard Peninsula, near to the Helford River, the pressure is off for those wishing to relax and escape everyday life. A small stream and fields envelop Respryn House with its hillside garden and terraces. A raised view point and summer house (young children must be accompanied) takes in the views of the beach and beyond to Falmouth. A path and steps lead to a large deck and barbecue. Porthallow, once home to a thriving pilchard industry, has a popular village pub, The Five Pilchards. For a simple, traditional family holiday, kids will love to explore the cove, take picnics, watch the boats and enjoy the fresh air: a perfect place for enjoying quality time together. The village comes alive in the summer with events which take place from May to October. Take short trips out to Flambards Adventure Park, Ships & Castles Fun Pool, Roskilly's Ice Cream and Organic Farm, the National Seal Sanctuary, diving at Porthkerris amongst others. Entering Respryn House eyes are drawn to the wonderful Aga, the centrepiece of a bright, airy kitchen. The rooms are furnished with solid farmhouse style pieces that warm the soul. The living area has the comfort of large sofas, a hearth and wood-burner, with an open staircase leading to fresh, roomy bedrooms - two doubles with ensuites and one twin room and family bathroom scattered with delicate colour and white wooden slatted ceilings all add to the excitement of being by the sea. There is roadside parking for two cars.
