Property Description
Manacles is a delightful single storey barn conversion in a peaceful rural setting just 3 miles from the bustling port of Falmouth. The barn is situated under a mile from Mawnan Smith, a pretty village with an old thatched pub, a number of local shops and an Italian restaurant. Near to the mouth of the Helford River, the area is unspoilt and the estuary is rich in smuggling and pirate history. The deep sheltered waters and hidden creeks are interspersed by pretty villages such as Durgan and Helford Passage from where you can catch a passenger ferry across to Helford on the Lizard Peninsula. The coastal town of Falmouth is just a short drive away and from here you can hop on a boat and take a trip across to the exclusive village of St Mawes for a spot of lunch on the waterfront. Manacles is situated on a small development of barns centred around a large enclosed courtyard garden which has been landscaped and exotically planted to create a Mediterranean feel. Beyond the courtyard is a superb outdoor heated swimming pool which is open from April to September as well as a jacuzzi and sauna which are open year round. Surrounding the pool are comfortable sun loungers, on which you can relax with a good book. Inside the barn offers accommodation on one level making it suitable for people with limited mobility and there is level access to the swimming pool area. The central open plan living space has a double bedroom to either side, each with their own shower room meaning Manacles is perfect for two couples. There is ample parking. Manacles is suitable for larger groups when booked together with Mawnan, Sennen, St Keverne, Newlyn, Pendeen or Trelawney.
