Property Description
Ivy Cottage is a recently converted barn in the pretty hamlet of Relubbus on the River Hayle, just over 2 miles from the south Cornish coast. The nearest sandy beach is at Perranuthnoe, a delightful coastal village with a great local pub, two cafes and a craft shop. A little further to the east is the mile long beach at Praa Sands which is popular with surfers and families. The beach is lifeguarded in the summer months and there is a surf school and kayak hire available. The area is a walker's paradise and a three mile stroll along the river bank will take you to the head of the Hayle estuary on the North coast. At the heart of Ivy Cottage is the central open plan living space which has a vaulted ceiling and French windows opening out to the sunny garden making it a lovely light space. The modern kitchen runs along the back wall of the room and there is a dining table which extends to seat six. The living area is flanked by the bedrooms, with the en-suite master bedroom to one side and a further double, a bunk room (limited in space therefore ideally suited to children) and a shower room to the other. All rooms enjoy the outlook across the garden to the rolling countryside beyond and there is a feeling of peace and tranquility which belies the proximity to the bustling south coast. Immediately to the front of the barn is a private terrace with table and chairs and a barbeque, beyond this is a large lawned garden (not enclosed) which is shared with the neighbouring barn. For larger groups, Ivy Cottage is adjacent to Foxglove Cottage, which sleeps 3. There is parking for 2-3 cars.
