A selection of holiday properties in Portloe
Portloe is a small village situated on the Roseland Peninsula east of Veryan. This picturesque cove and tiny harbour village is home to two full time working fishing vessels, the Jasmine and Katy Lil, both of which fish for crab and lobster in Veryan and Gerrans Bay, alongside a fleet of leisure boats in the summer. Portloe is also well known for its fantastic fishing, scenery, walks, and local history. The area is surrounded by cliffs and headlands, which form part of the Cornish coastal footpath. This area boasts an unrivalled beauty and enduring timelessness and has easy access to St Mawes and other coastal towns. The area has featured in television programmes such as the BBC comedy series Wild West, starring Dawn French and Catherine Tate. Portloe was also the location where Irish Jam was filmed, starring Eddie Griffin. Located just south of the village is Broom Parc, a cliff-top villa overlooking the sea which was the main location for Channel 4's 1992 serialisation of Mary Wesley's The Camomile Lawn. It is presently owned by the National Trust.
