Mousehole
On the West Coast just a few miles from the Island Castle of St Michael’s Mount, and within Cornwall’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, lies the pretty fishing village of Mousehole. It has retained much of its original charm, and with narrow streets filled with art galleries, small shops and restaurants, this small but quaint village has a lot to offer. During the summer, the picturesque Harbour is the ideal spot for passing the hours on the sandy beach. Then in the winter visitors watch the Harbour transform with Mousehole’s spectacular and ever popular display of Christmas lights, best enjoyed whilst ambling around the village with a cup of locally made, warm mulled wine. Visitors wanting to take up the South West Coast Path challenge can walk to the nearby town of Penzance, with its array of shops and restaurants. Guests holidaying in the far South West should take advantage of their close proximity to the attractions at Land’s End and the bustling seaside resort of St Ives. Just 20 minutes away, the impressive open air Minack Theatre is also worth a visit. Situated high up on the cliffs it’s also a great spot to catch a glimpse of dolphins and basking sharks in the summer.
