Westhayes is a charming and stylish 200 year old barn conversion, set in the expansive and beautiful grounds of Helsbury Park, in the heart of the North Cornwall countryside, yet within easy reach of golden sandy beaches. The property has been sympathetically modernised to create a spacious, luxurious and comfortable holiday home, which has been tastefully furnished throughout. Sleeping up to six guests, and their four legged friends, Westhayes features a well equipped and warm kitchen/diner and a stylish living area, filled with rustic charm. An impressive galleried staircase ascends to three super comfy bedrooms; two with 5ft four poster beds and a further pretty twin room - all with the convenience of a modern and well maintained bath/shower room. The comfort and style of the interior, combined with ample parking; 100 acres of lovely dog friendly private land and a shared swimming pool, sauna and gym, is sure to make this property a popular choice for guests.

Just stunning! What an amazing place, my hubby and I and our 5 dogs have just returned from a week at Helsbury Park. Talk about everything dog – this place is fantastic. The view you have looking down from the barn is breathtaking. Lucky pooches have so much space to explore from open meadows to ancient woodlands. The resident buzzard can be seen every day circling the meadow, there are deer on the site, rabbits can be seen hoping around – it’s just idyllic. Every little detail has been taken into consideration – nothing has been overlooked. Our barn was so welcoming and beautifully presented. Upstairs was beautifully presented too – all bedrooms had an en suite, lovely comfy 4 poster beds occupied two of the bedrooms and one was set up as a twin. And the pool – OMG what a pool, I honestly don’t think I will ever be able to beat the view from there . Helsbury Park has to be the most idyllic and peaceful place I have ever had the pleasure spending time at. Genuinely cannot wait until we are able to go back and enjoy this little piece of heaven again. They totally deserve the 5 star rating they have.

When you stay in one of the two stunning barns you can kick off your shoes and put your feet up in front of a roaring fire or wallow in a steaming bath after a hard day's exploring. Helsbury Park will add the comforts of home to your holiday experience and it won't just be your precious pets that are pampered when you stay in these exceptional properties. Situated in the heart of North Cornwall this unique site is nestled in between three Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty: The Camel Valley, Bodmin Moor and the North Cornish Coast, this superb venue not only offers luxurious accommodation but is also totally dog friendly. Stroll around the private grounds which include a river, bridge, woods and pasture - it will take you about an hour to loop the whole garden. Take in spectacular vistas of Bodmin Moor and the Camel Valley with a view of Roughtor and Devil's Jump to the east and the river valley to the south. Westhayes is one of two 200 year old barn conversions which have been modernised to create spacious and luxurious holiday homes. Refurbished to maximise its charm and comfort using traditional materials such as slate and granite and luxuries such as a range cooker and wood burner for winter cosiness. The living accommodation offers a generous kitchen/diner and separate sitting room with a stunning galleried staircase in between. There are two super bedrooms both with king-size four poster beds and one twin bedroom. The master bedroom has a stylish ensuite bathroom while the other two have ensuite shower rooms. Built at right angles to Marhayes (which also sleeps 6), the two barns share a front lawn, with an enclosed private area to the rear where dogs can be exercised in a controlled space, along with an outdoor kennel. What more could you and your four legged friends wish for! For larger groups we also let the adjoining properties: Marhayes (6098) and The Farmhouse (6097), both of which sleep 6.

3 Bedrooms - Sleeping up to 6 Adults (plus 1 additional child on request at £50 p/w on a z-bed) The property offers accommodation over two floors and has a mixture of carpeting, slate flooring, tile floors and rugs throughout. External doors are of a standard width and height and internal doors are a standard width and height. Kitchen worktops are of a standard height. There is off-road parking for three cars on a pebble and tarmac drive within 10m of the entrance with four uneven granite steps to the path. One step to Entrance. Ground Floor: Kitchen/Dining Room. Sitting Room with wood burner and 32" TV. Cloakroom with WC. One flight of stairs to First Floor: Bedroom 1 with 5' bed and en-suite Shower Room with double walk-in shower cubicle and WC. Bedroom 2 Twin with en-suite Shower Room with double walk-in shower cubicle and WC. Bedroom 3 with 5' bed and en-suite Bathroom with bath, bidet and WC. Other amenities: Access to the office with FREE Wi-Fi next to The Farmhouse. Dishwasher, washer-dryer, fridge/freezer, stair-gate, charcoal barbecue and one basket of logs provided. Indoor heated swimming pool, gym and sauna available year round. Towels, bed linen and electric panel heaters and oil under floor heating included. Unlimited pets welcome at £20 each per week. Location was perfect, unlike the weather but this was Bodmin. Travelling to Bude and St Ives was simple and with plenty of local attractions too. The morning walks with the dogs were highly enjoyable and the relaxing. The highlight was without doubt the swimming pool. With the dreadful weather it kept the children entertained and the gym was a welcome addition. Quality and inventory supplied in the house was more than we anticipated. Local shops were only a short drive away and more than adequate. Overall a great experience for all and we could take our dogs.

The property was fantastic, spacious but homely, close enough to town without being too close. If we could have bought it we would have written the cheque on the day.

The accommodation was comfortable, and the surrounding fields lovely to walk in. It is a good base from which to tour, and we particularly liked Boscastle and Trebarwith Strand. Our favourite dog friendly pub was the White Hart at St. Teath, the landlord even gave the dogs a biscuit. We also had a fine meal at the Maltsters Arms at Chapel Amble, but it was expensive. If you drink cider, a visit to Haywood Farm at St. Mabyn is a must. You can sample various ciders and the owner will make a blend for you to suit your taste. (Reminded me of visits to the vineyards in Bordeaux).
