“Great location, fantastic view looking out to Jubilee pool and St Michael's mount.”

The upside down living in Jubilee Cottage is a bit different, hence having the great views from the lounge windows. We would stay again. Just a couple of things, these being that, as you do enter the property it does smell like wet dog, very musty smelling. this maybe because the downstairs windows don't get opened very often. Also, thank you for the milk in fridge, but the fridge wasn't on and the door open (with the tea towel still catching the defrosting water), so the milk was not cold ...

Last point, man working from home in the house behind chatting and looking down at us from his work station into the rear lounge window, maybe some blinds would help the feeling of not being watched. Thanks again for a great stay though.

The property

Directly on the promenade with superb far reaching sea views across to St Michael's Mount and Marazion, Jubilee Cottage is perfectly positioned in the lively, bustling town of Penzance to enjoy a diverse range of attractions and entertainment to suit all tastes.

The town is surrounded by an area of Celtic culture and outstanding natural beauty, with pristine beaches and crystal seas, majestic cliffs and rocky coves, all set against a heather and gorse landscape.

Instantly inviting, the renovation of this traditionally built granite stone cottage has reversed living accommodation creating a spacious first floor living-room from which to savour the panoramic vista across Mount's Bay.

Comfortably furnished with a deeply cushioned suite, plush carpeting and dining area, it is a room in which to relax in homely comfort.

A door leads through to an adjoining well equipped kitchen, fitted with pale green fronted units, whilst downstairs exposed granite stone walls add character and charm to the bedrooms.

Full central heating ensures that the cottage is snug and cosy for out of season retreats. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the sea front by the Jubilee Swimming Pool, or explore the harbour.

The seafaring heritage permeates through its winding streets lined with ancient inns, museums, galleries and curio shops.

A day trip to the Isles of Scilly by boat can be taken from the harbour and for those without transport there is a picturesque 20 minute train service to the harbour town of St Ives, the inspiration of many artists, writers and poets. Land's End is a 10 mile drive away and has something for everyone, whatever the weather.

With its stunning dramatic scenery and legendary views it can be enjoyed in sunshine and storms, where you may spy seals, dolphins and basking sharks in their natural environment.

Parking can usually be found nearby.

About the location

PENZANCE

St Ives 8 miles. Helicopter to Isles of Scilly - 30 minutes

Penzance hosts Golowan, the Midsummer Carnival, and The Literary Festival. There are also The Exchange, Newlyn and Penlee Art Galleries. One of Cornwall’s most popular holiday areas is the spectacular sweep of Mount’s Bay, from the cliffside fishing village of Mousehole through Penzance and around to beautiful Marazion, the coastline hides a wealth of sandy beaches, rocky coves as well as winding village streets and other places to visit and explore. Connected by a causeway to the shore at Marazion is the National Trust’s stunningly beautiful St Michael’s Mount with its hilltop castle and Mediterranean gardens. Walk across at low water and take one of the ferry boats back when the tide is up. Penzance with its winding streets, shops, clubs, restaurants and harbour is a must as it is the jumping-off point for day trips to the Isles of Scilly as well as being the harbor. The South West Coast Path passing through Penzance winds its way along the clifftops towards Land’s End. On the way, stop off for a coffee and a rest at beautiful Lamorna Cove, explore the open air Minack Theatre and marvel at the cliffs as you approach Gwennap Head. A stunning walk for those seeking solitude, exercise and some of the UK’s best coastal scenery. Penzance is the perfect holiday base. Ideally placed for exploring this land of Celtic myth and legend and with enough to do and see in the immediate area to keep all the family occupied.
