A selection of holiday properties in Polperro
Widely recognised as one of the most beautiful fishing villages in Cornwall, Polperro is nestled in a steep valley either side of the River Pol and forms part of the 80 mile South Cornwall Heritage Coast. It is located just a few miles from Looe and boat trips can be taken from the Harbour to the popular town of Fowey, famous for its Daphne du Maurier festival. Like many of Cornwall’s coastal villages, Polperro has a rich smuggling history so visitors won’t want to miss taking a trip to the Heritage Museum, gaining an insight into life in the village in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries when smuggling was at large. Situated on the South West Coast Path, walkers can easily explore the nearby secluded coves of Talland Bay and the idyllic Lantivet Bay. Relaxing in the picturesque surroundings, it’s easy to forget you are only 25 miles away from the city of Plymouth. Polperro is also a great base for visiting some of Cornwall’s top attractions, being close to the Eden Project and less than an hour from the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the famous Jamaica Inn.
