    “Carne Mill is an amazing place to stay.”

    There were 10 in our party and the layout worked brilliantly for us. Granny and grandad had the flat so that was perfect for them, their own quiet space. The grounds are gorgeous and being next to a creek. We definitely made use of the in coming tides with paddle boards and kayaks! We didn't have dogs with us, but one of our party has a dog allergy so they did appriciate the dog policy of keeping them in the kitchen during the stay. Pippa is very helpful and understanding and we thank her for ...

The property

An outstanding residence set in an enviable waterside position, Carne Mill sits at the head of Gillan Creek close to the Helford River, Manaccan and Gillan.

The views are absolutely enchanting, overlooking a serene tree lined tidal creek and a habitat flourishing with wildlife, it possesses a tranquil aura which is guaranteed to refresh and rejuvenate the spirit.

Naturally beautiful and sitting literally on the water's edge, the location offers plenty of opportunities to sit back and watch the karmic waters ebb and flow in an unsurpassed vantage point boasting creek views from most rooms, the generous first floor balcony and the garden.

The mill has its own tidal quay and extensive gardens and woodlands, all beautifully kept with a garden laid to lawn with shrubs, a pretty stream, a vegetable garden and fruit trees.

Sympathetically redesigned, the original mill wheel can still be seen incorporated into the private granite terrace at the rear, a delightful suntrap and perfect spot for a barbecue.

Superbly spacious and flexible for large parties, this luxurious residence is split with the main house sleeping eight, and catering for twelve, and the adjoining self-contained apartment sleeping four guests. Beautifully restored it has been finished to the highest specification, equipped with sophisticated lighting and new furnishings and appliances carefully hand-picked for their quality, design and functionality.

The main kitchen alone has a sleek 32 inch Sony flat screen and 1100 Range Master induction cooker along with every conceivable cooking appliance and utensil to make Rick Stein weep with joy.

Boasting the latest high-tech devices and aesthetics throughout, a Bose surround sound entertainment centre and iPod dock, blue ray player, Free Sat, telephones and Ethernet points in the principal rooms and wireless broadband offer an ultra-modern lifestyle experience and a leisure alternative for everyone on wet weather days.

The house is arranged over three and a half levels, with a handsome hand-crafted oak staircase enjoying feature lighting and a glass ceiling providing access to a bespoke integrated kitchen/diner on the lower ground floor; a 30ft sitting room with a 40 inch flat screen TV, wood burning stove and panoramic views over the creek.

On the second floor there are two well appointed bedrooms (both having amazing views and one with a generous private balcony) a WC and utility room on the raised ground floor and a further two bedrooms with creek views and a luxury family bathroom on the upper floor.

Accessed from the rear, the apartment features a living room and a well-equipped integrated kitchen with creek views, two bedrooms with views over the garden and a family bathroom.

There is an irresistible romance attached to this tranquil woodland water-world and a chance to explore it along peaceful creek side footpaths.

Follow the lane beside the creek and in one mile you will reach St Anthony, where boats can be hired and moorings and boat trailer storage can be arranged.

If you can bear to tear yourself away from this haven you will find the Lizard Peninsula and its quaint fishing villages and longer stretches and sand at Kennack, Poldhu and the National Trust cove of Kynance are within easy reach.

There is parking for six cars.

Pets by special agreement charged at £50 each per week.
