Mandalay is a fabulous retreat in a glorious countryside setting with the added unique attraction of being on a working farm. Tastefully decorated and furnished throughout it offers a very comfortable level of accommodation. Younger guests in particular will love to watch the tractor or the cows from their windows. Perfectly situated to explore the fabulous surrounding countryside, guests have a real chance to get away from it all and immerse themselves in the tranquility of the area.
All our properties are personally appraised by our team, who work in association with Visit England to ensure quality standards are upheld.

A lovely part of the county, Mixed weather but we managed a good walk nearly every day, mostly on the coastal paths. A very comfortable, clean and cosy cottage, thanks Mary and Monty for everything. We would strongly recommend the Prince of Wales pub at Newtown for good food and a warm welcome. Also Anns pasties at the Lizard and the homemade doughnuts at the cellar café at Cadgwith. A visit to Roskillys near St Keverne is well worth while

Nestled in lush green countryside on a working farm just 1½ miles from the spectacular Helford River is Mandalay, a well presented two bedroom bungalow. Less than a mile away is the pretty village of Manaccan which offers local facilities including post office/stores, 16th Century Inn and a cafe/bistro. Standing alone from the rest of the County, the Lizard peninsula is perhaps Cornwall's best kept secret. Designated an area of outstanding natural beauty, the locality is rural and unspoilt and the landscape remains largely unchanged as the years pass by. The rugged scenery is interspersed with beautiful coves, hidden creeks, thatched cottages and colourful fishing boats and on the nearest beach at Gillan Cove (under 2 miles away) there is a high chance you will be the only visitors. The picture postcard village of Helford which sits sleepily on the banks of the river is home to a sailing club and a pub on the waterfront from where you can hop on a boat to explore the northern banks of the river. Recently refurbished, Mandalay offers comfortable accommodation on one level. The sitting room has leather sofas and a wood burning stove and behind this is a well equipped kitchen. There is a good sized conservatory at the rear of the bungalow with a dining table for six and a utility room for wet suits and muddy boots. The two bedrooms are of a generous size and share a modern shower room with large shower cubicle. Outside is a large enclosed lawned garden and a terrace with table and chairs, perfect for a relaxing in the Cornish sunshine. There is parking for two cars. Please note that Mandalay is on a working farm and you may experience the sounds and smells of the countryside!

2 Bedrooms - Sleeps 4 Adults Two steps to Entrance. Ground Floor: Entrance Hall. Sitting Room with 37" TV and wood burner. Kitchen/Breakfast Room with 19" TV. Conservatory. Bedroom 1 with 5' bed. Bedroom 2 Twin. Shower Room. Other Amenities: Freezer, dishwasher and tumble dryer. Ipod doc. Bed linen and towels provided. Electric plug in heaters or oil fired Rayburn and radiators by request. 1 pet welcome FREE OF CHARGE by prior agreement with the owner. The property offers accommodation over one floor and has carpeting and Vinyl flooring. The bathroom has ceramic tiles. External and internal doors are all of a standard width and height. Kitchen work tops are of a standard height. The garden has a a mixture of lawn and paved surfaces. There is off-road parking for two cars approx 1 metre from the entrance. From the parking area, there are 2 shallow steps and a gate to the entrance. Our first holiday in Cornwall and we’ve had a fantastic week! The bungalow is very clean, spacious and homely, very welcoming with the beautiful gardens, a perfect place to explore from. Locally we loved Lizard point-breathtaking, Mullion Cove, Porthleven and our girls loved The Seal Sanctuary. Further afield, The Minack, St Michalls Mount, Landsend (fireworks in the evening) The Eden Project and Falmouth. We will be back.

We have had a wonderful week here revisiting old haunts and enjoyed staying in Mary and Monty’s Bungalow very much as it’s so comfortable and well equipped. We have done a lot of walks op on the coast paths and I think Tess the dog will sleep for a week when we get back home!! We have had delicious cream teas at the café by the riverside and a superb evening meal at the local Prince of Wales pub.
