A festive treat has come early for an animal charity thanks to a reverse advent calendar collected by Cornish Cottage Holidays.
Fundraising for Last Chance Hotel
Last Chance Hotel predominantly rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes abused and neglected dogs. This includes those that other rescue centres cannot take such as ex-bait and ex-fight dogs, the sick, the aged and the terminally ill.
The team popped in presents for the pooches before donating the gift. It has been used as a prize at the charity’s festive fun dog show on Sunday, December 16.
Why this charity
Linda McKeown, South West Head of Operations at Cornish Cottage Holidays said: “We all love dogs in the office, in fact we are often visited by team members’ dogs so it was natural to support a dog rescue.
“And two of us have adopted dogs from Last Chance Hotel too so it was lovely to support the work they do in re-homing animals.”
Marley wins our top prize
Sam from Last Chance Hotel, said: “Donations such as this truly help towards making dogs’ lives better.
“We were able to use this fantastic gift as our top prize for best in show at our Christmas fundraising dog show.
“This was won by Marley who had fun trying to open all his new presents.
“It helped us to raise more than £400, which will truly help support the animals we care for – the generosity of people always astounds me.”
How you can help
The charity is looking for long and short term foster homes within Cornwall, as well as new, loving permanent homes within the county and beyond.
