1. Introduction
These are the terms and conditions that apply to the Competition with the title “Win a £500 Holiday Voucher” that is being run by the Promoter (as defined below) on the promoter’s website (the Competition).
By entering the Competition you are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions.
2. The Promoter
The promoter for the Competition is Sykes Cottages Ltd of One City Place, Queens Road, Chester, CH1 3BQ (Promoter and Promoter’s Address).
Sykes Cottages Family Brands are: Abersoch Quality Homes, Best Escapes, Best of Suffolk, Carbis Bay Holidays, Coast and Country Cottages, Cornish Cottage Holidays, Dream Cottages, Helpful Holidays, Hogans Irish Cottages, John Bray Cornish Holidays, Lake District Lodge Holidays, Lakelovers, Large Holiday Houses, Lyme Bay Holidays, Manor Cottages, Menai Holidays, Northumbria Coast & Country Cottages, Welsh Coast and Country Cottages and Yorkshire Coastal Cottages (each, a Sykes Cottage Family Brand).
These terms and conditions do not apply to bookings of Forest Holidays properties.
3. How to Enter the Competition
3.1. To enter: (i) follow @southwestcoastpath and @cornishcottagehols, (ii) like the giveaway post on Instagram and (iii) tag a friend in the posts comments (1 tag = 1 entry).
3.2. The Competition will run from [23/09/2024] (Opening Date) to [27/09/2024] (Closing Date).
3.3. Entry to the Competition must have been made before the Competition’s Closing Date. An Entry to the Competition received after the Closing Date won’t be accepted.
3.4. There is no purchase necessary to enter a Competition from the Promoter’s perspective.
3.5. The Competiton is being ran in partnership with the South West Coast Path Association.
3.6. The Promoter will not (a) accept responsibility for Competition entries that are lost, regardless of cause, including, for example due to equipment and/or system failure or a technical malfunction or (b) accept proof of an Entry by any means other than what appears to the Promoter on the Promoter’s system as proof
of entry into a Competition when the Promoter checks this after the Competition’s Closing Date.
4. Eligibility to Enter the Competition
4.1. The Competition is open to all residents in the UK aged 18 years or over, except employees of the Promoter and their family members.
4.2. On entering a Competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so. The Promoter may require proof of this.
4.3. The Promoter will not accept any Entry that is (a) automatically generated by computer, (b) completed by a third party or completed in bulk and/or (c) is incomplete.
4.4. The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify you from a Competition if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of a Competition.
5. The Prize
5.1. The prize is a Sykes Cottages gift voucher for an amount equal to £500 and the gift voucher shall remain valid for a period of 2 years from the date it is claimed (Prize)
5.2. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Prize with a prize of equal or greater value.
5.3. The Prize is not negotiable or transferable.
5.4. The Prize is not in paper form, the Promoter will apply it as a credit to a relevant booking, being a booking of a property made on www.sykescottages.co.uk and/or a website(s) of a Sykes Cottages Family Brand.
6. Winner of the Competition
6.1. The winner of the Competition will be selected by assigning a number to each valid Entry that the Promoter pulls from its system, then an available online random number generator of the Promoter’s choosing will be used to pick a winner (Generator). The decision of the Generator, in relation to its role in the process, will be final.
6.2. The Promoter will send details of the Generator used for the Competition to anyone who writes to the Promoter within one month of that Competition’s Closing Date requesting them.
6.3. The decision of the Promoter, having used the Generator, is final, and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
6.4. There will be 1 winning Entry in total.
6.5. The Promoter will contact the winner(s) as soon as practicable after the Closing Date by direct message via email (Notification).
6.6. The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. The Promoter will send the surname and county of a Prize Winner to anyone who emails dpo@sykescottages.co.uk or writes to the Promoter at the Promoter’s Address, in both instances, within one month after the Closing Date of that Competition.
6.7. If you object to any or all of your surname, county being published or made available, please email dpo@sykecottages.co.uk or write to the Promoter at the Promoter’s Address. In such circumstances the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
6.8. The Promoter will process your personal data as set out in the https://www.sykescottages.co.uk/terms/privacypolicy
7. Claiming a Prize
In relation to the Competition:
7.1. If you are the winner of a Prize (you will have received a Notification – see 6.5), you must claim the Prize by replying to the email sent by the Promoter. You will have 10 days from the date of the Notification to claim it. If you do not claim the Prize by this date, your claim will become invalid, and a new winner may be selected.
7.2. The Prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
7.3. The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up a Prize.
8. Limitation of Liability
Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate any person that submits an Entry, including but not limited to the winner of the Competition, or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up a Prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter or its employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
9. General
9.1. The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the Competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
9.2. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
