  • “The cottage is lovely, cosy, modern and very smart.”

The kitchen is spacious and practical. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom very nice with a good shower. We kept banging our heads on the sloping roof in the bedroom and one has to be careful not to collide with the wooden stairs which protrude into the lounge area. The large TV is very nice bit we would have liked also to have a CD player as we prefer to listen to music some of the time. I didn’t succeed in streaming music from my laptop to the Roberts Smart Speaker – no idea what stopped it. The Internet works well and is reasonably fast. Charlestown is a very pleasant and interesting village with a good choice of places to eat, though they are all rather expensive. We had excellent meals at the Rashleigh Arms and the Pier House Hotel. There are 3 supermarkets within easy walking distance: Tesco and Lidl at 7 and 8 minutes respectively (via Church Road) and Aldi at 18 minutes. The coast path makes for a pleasant walk in both directions and nearby Carlyon Bay has a wonderful sandy beach. The weather was rather poor such that we were confined to the cottage for 2½ days due to heavy rain and high wind. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay and can recommend this property.
