    “Absolutely loved the Attic.”

    Very well equipped and laid out. Views stunning. Very clean, loved the little touch of the cream tea. Made our three nights away relaxing and just what was needed ,Will stay again. Great to have the shop below also great breakfast rolls. Thank you to the host Claire and her staff in the shop.

The property

Located at the heart of the village of Ruan Minor and just a short walk from the picturesque fishing village of Cadgwith with its access to the South West Coast Path, The Attic is a newly refurbished and beautifully presented two bed loft apartment above Ruan Minor Store, Café and Post Office.

A former superhost with Airbnb, the owner continues to provide the high level of service and care expected by their Cornish Cottage Holiday guests. A pair of large wooden gates provides secure access to a gravelled parking area, at the rear of the property, suitable for 2 vehicles.

Access on foot is gained by a narrow locked side gate. Benefiting from close proximity to the local amenities and an enviable position on the Lizard Peninsula (an area of outstanding natural beauty and with dark sky status), The Attic welcomes four guests, perfect for a family, couples or friends alike seeking a relaxing getaway or walking holiday in Cornwall.

A short flight of stairs leads you to a cozy lounge and dining area, with access to the well-equipped kitchen, furnished with all the appliances you need to enjoy a self-catered stay.

The accommodation also provides two bedrooms, one of which is set up as a twin.

Being at the top of the building, the space offers 360 degree views of the village out to sea and across the fields to the beautiful St Grade and Holy Cross church.

It's also a great spot to observe the amazing, starry night skys. If you prefer to spend your evenings alfresco, head outside to the charming, enclosed garden, complete with barbecue and outdoor furniture so you can soak up the evening sun.

If the beach and water sports are your thing, there's an outdoor tap for rinsing yourself and your kit, before relaxing in a large, walk-in shower. Close by, pay Just a short walk away is the National Trust’s old serpentine works, at Poltesco, perfect for history enthusiasts looking to learn more about the area’s rich heritage and enjoy the surrounding woods and streams. A 40 minute hike via Poltesco will take you to Kennack Sands, an idyllic spot for sunbathing, paddling the shores or simply relaxing with family and friends; if you're feeling up to the challenge, why not try your hand at a range of watersports, including paddle boarding or windsurfing, guaranteed to get the adrenaline flowing! Alternatively travel further afield to discover the likes of Kynance Cove of Poldark fame, the Goonhilly Earth Station, Bonython Estate Gardens, the busy harbour and foodie centre of Porthleven and the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, each offering plenty to see and do.

Ruan Minor is a tiny village in the South East of Cornwall, perched on the Lizard Peninsula and just a 5 minute walk down to Cadgwith Cove. Settled next to the bustling fishing village of Cadgwith, Ruan Minor is part of the Grade-Ruan parish alongside the smaller hamlets of Ruan Major and St Ruan. The village is home to a local Post Office (open 9 to 5:30 Mon-Fri and 9 to 12:30 Sat) combined with a village store and Cafe (open 8 to 7 Mon to Fri, 8:30 to 7 Sat, and 9 to 1 Sun), serving any self-catering needs, as well as fresh baked breakfast goods and the best coffee on the Lizard, along with the Ruan Minor Pavilion bar where locals gather down in Cadgwith, at the bottom of Barn Hill you can find a pub and a cafe serving delicious seafood, as well as a fishmongers and a gift shop/ gallery, while heading northward leads you to Kuggar which has two pubs and a gift shop too. Ruan Minor is the perfect spot for those seeking a tranquil, break to Cornwall, just a stone's throw from the South West Coast Path where you can soak up the stunning seascapes and take energetic rambles. Head down to the National Trust's Lizard Point, the most southernly point of England's mainland, (if you're lucky you will spot seals, choughs, and maybe basking sharks and dolphins) visit the gorgeous Kynance Cove, Poldhu Beach, and Housel Bay Beach for some exquisite blue waters you won't forget in a hurry.
