It is perfectly positioned for Readymoney Cove, the town and its restaurants, the passenger ferry to Polruan and coastal walks. We enjoyed the walk to Polkerris beach via Gribbin Head, lunch at Sam's on the Beach and return on the Saints Way. We also enjoyed the motorised dinghy, kayak and paddle board from Fowey River Hire. Great meals and service at the Old Quay House restaurant and Bufala, delicious pastries from the Cornish Bakery, crab and spring onion quiches and the selection of local cheeses at Kittows (Smugglers, Helford Sunrise and Montgomery our favourites). 62 Esplanade has a wonderful patio and long kitchen table to seat a large group. The kitchen was well equipped, we could have just done with a small vegetable knife and a draining board for items washed by hand. I brought washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, cloths and sponges, but these were all supplied. We enjoyed the welcome bowl, Smugglers tea and coffee capsules. The lighting in the sitting room could be improved, we found it a little dark. Good arrangement of bedrooms and choice of doubles, twin etc ideal, beds very comfy. We felt very spoilt in the beautiful master bedroom. As you can tell we had a wonderful holiday, thank you.

FOWEY

Lostwithiel 8 miles; Polperro 8 miles

This small town and civil parish lies at the mouth of the River Fowey in south Cornwall. The estuary of the River Fowey forms a natural harbour, which enabled the town to become an important trading centre. There is a wealth of things to see and do in and around the harbour. Whether you enjoy getting out on the water, playing golf or finding out more about the history of the area, you are sure to find something to suit the whole family. Harbour cruises leave the Town Quay regularly in season giving you a superb view of the town, but for the more adventurous, rent your own self-drive boat, kayak or paddle board and explore the waters for yourselves! The town is steeped in history, so why not join a guided tour of either Fowey or Polruan? You can even join an owl experience, play golf, go horse riding or pursue your artistic talents with pottery or painting courses. There is the aquarium, museum and St Catherine's Castle, as well as Readymoney Cove, all waiting to be explored. If you get peckish, or fancy something thirst quenching along the way, there is a plethora of pubs, inns, cafes and restaurants to choose.
